About

This free, self-paced course trains new ministers in the twin disciplines of the pulpit: hermeneutics, the careful interpretation of Scripture, and homiletics, the craft of preparing and preaching a sermon. Across four modules and sixteen lessons, you will learn how preachers through history have handled the Word, how to study a text without reading your own ideas into it, how a sermon is built from title to altar call, and how to style your message using the sixteen-element Attack the Text preparation system developed by Bishop Douglas Derrick Lattimore. Each lesson pairs with a short quiz and a hands-on assignment, so by the end of the course you will have studied, outlined, and prepared a complete sermon of your own. A minister-training ministry of Solo Faith Church in Concord, North Carolina.
