Happy Feast
Hey everyone, I hope you guys have been having a wonderful week, and if it hasn’t been that great hopefully sharing about the tabernacles will brighten it. The tabernacles is one of my favorite feast since I was a child then(for the gifts) now for community.
Anyhow
The Feast of Tabernacles is a beautiful reminder that God desires to dwell with His people.
In Leviticus 23:39–43, God commanded Israel to celebrate this feast by dwelling in temporary shelters for seven days. It was meant to remind them of how God brought their ancestors out of Egypt and sustained them while they lived in temporary dwellings in the wilderness.
What I love is that the Israelites were being reminded not only of where they had been, but of who had been with them. They were in temporary places, but God’s presence was not temporary. He provided for them, guided them, and remained faithful to them.
That makes me think about how easily we can become focused on what is temporary our circumstances, what we want, what we are waiting for, or where we think we should be. Sukkot reminds us to stop and recognize, “God has been with me through all of this”
It is also a feast of rejoicing. Deuteronomy 16:14–15 tells God's people to rejoice because the Lord had blessed them and given them reason to be thankful.
So for me, the Feast of Tabernacles is a reminder to:
Remember God's faithfulness.
Be grateful for His provision.
Recognize that earthly circumstances are temporary.
Make room for God's presence in my life.
Rejoice in what He has already done instead of only looking toward what I am still waiting for.
God did not simply bring Israel out of Egypt and leave them to figure everything out. He went with them
