Cabarrus County Board of Elections: How to Check Your Registration, Find Your Polling Place and Vote Early
Voting goes more smoothly when you check a few things ahead of time. The Cabarrus County Board of Elections handles voter registration, early voting sites and polling places for every precinct in the county. Here is how to reach the office and what to check before you go.

Reaching the Cabarrus County Board of Elections
The Cabarrus County Board of Elections office is at 369 Church Street North in Concord. Staff answer questions about registration, absentee ballots and where to vote. Call 704-920-2860 or email elections@cabarruscounty.us. Office hours are Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Completed voter registration forms can be mailed to Cabarrus County Board of Elections, PO Box 1315, Concord, NC 28026-1315, or dropped off in person at the Church Street office.
Check Your Registration Before You Go
The county points voters to the North Carolina State Board of Elections voter lookup at vt.ncsbe.gov/RegLkup. It shows whether you are registered and at what address. If you have moved, changed your name or have not voted in a while, checking ahead saves time at the polls.
For the November 3, 2026 general election, the county lists the regular registration deadline as October 9, 2026 at 5 p.m. If you missed it, you can still register in person during one-stop early voting.
One-Stop Early Voting Sites and Hours (Fall 2026)
Early voting for the November 3, 2026 general election runs October 15 through October 31, 2026. You may use any of the four sites, because each one carries every ballot style. The Board of Elections office itself is not an early voting site this year.
The sites are Cabarrus EMS Headquarters Station 9, 793 Cabarrus Avenue West, Concord; the Library and Active Living Center at Afton, 6095 Glen Afton Boulevard, Kannapolis; Cabarrus Arena and Events Center, 4751 NC Highway 49, Concord; and Rowan-Cabarrus Community College at the NC Research Campus, 399 Biotechnology Lane, Kannapolis.
Weekday hours are 8 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. Saturdays, October 17 and 24, run 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., and the last day, Saturday, October 31, runs 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. There is no voting on Sundays. Current wait times are posted at waittimes.cabarruscounty.us.
Two of the early voting sites, Cabarrus Arena and the Afton library and Active Living Center, are familiar places to many families; our guide to community events in Cabarrus County lists what else happens there through the year.
Same-Day Registration, Photo ID and Election Day
During early voting you may register and vote at the same visit if you bring proof of your name and address. Voters also show a photo ID, the same as on Election Day. The county page does not list every accepted document, so call 704-920-2860 if you are unsure what to bring.
On Election Day, you must vote at your assigned precinct. Use the state polling place lookup at vt.ncsbe.gov/PPLkup, which lets you search by address. On Election Day, North Carolina polls are open 6:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m., and anyone in line at 7:30 p.m. may still vote. Call the Board of Elections to ask about curbside voting if standing in line is hard for you.
