Message From Pastor Doug:
"I haven't lived in Concord NC long (only 4 years now). I remember we moved to Concord after mold attacked our house in Belmont NC and my wife was diagnosed with lupus. The lupus caused her to have a heart attack at Atrium, and I was COMPLETELY STRESSED OUT. When I would think about how stressful my life had gotten by worrying about her, maintaining the house, business, our 7 children, and not to mention, running the church I pastored in Gastonia while she was hospitalized, needless to say, the anxiety I had was too much for me to bear. While meditating on God one day, He led me to go running, and as I was relieving the stress, around the corner from my house, I ran into Press and Porter. So I went in and ordered a large Caramel Macchiato with almond milk (which would soon become my usual).

I didn't know Anna and Emily personally (and still don't), but one thing I did learn after that day was that they make THE BEST CARAMEL MACCHIATO IN THE CITY. That experience of excellence was able to help relieve my worrying for a brief second, and focus my mind on something other than my anxiety (and that was invaluable). My wife is healthy and all better now, but I would personally like to say thank you to Anna and Emily for their service to our community, and if you are looking for the best coffee ever (according to me), find Press and Porter"
