Food and Hope to Every Doorstep — Inside Solo Faith's Ministry

"Love your neighbor as yourself." At Solo Faith Church, that command from Jesus (Yeshua) is not a slogan on a wall — it is a delivery route. Everything our church does begins there: with the love of God, and with the love He tells us to carry to the people right next to us. Faith is the root. A box of groceries on a doorstep is the fruit.

That mission recently drew attention beyond our own congregation. Cabarrus Compass published a feature on our work — "Pastor Doug Lattimore's Mission to Bring Food and Hope to Every Doorstep" — written by Avalin Inman as part of the Greater Cabarrus Foundation's "What Makes Cabarrus County Great" series. We are grateful for the spotlight, and we want to share with our own community the heart behind what was described.

The ministry: food that comes to the door

Solo Faith Church Inc. is a 501(c)(3) public charity in Concord, North Carolina. We run a free online food pantry and a DoorDash-supported grocery delivery program that brings food directly to the homes of neighbors who cannot get to a pantry themselves. For many families, the barrier to food is not the food — it is the trip. Seniors, families without reliable transportation, and homebound neighbors can go without, not because help doesn't exist, but because they can't reach it.

Removing that barrier is the whole point. Our neighbors receive groceries at no cost, with no judgment and no paperwork. Dignity is not an afterthought; it is the design.

An AI-automated model that lets a small team serve at scale

What makes the ministry work is a disciplined, technology-driven operation. Solo Faith runs an AI-automated food-pantry and delivery model: automated order intake, automated DoorDash delivery scheduling, and AI-assisted operations that let a small team serve more households than its size would normally allow. The technology exists for one reason — to remove transportation as a barrier to food access, and to do it quickly and with care. It is a pioneering approach, and it flows directly from the call to love our neighbor.

Rooted here in Cabarrus County

Cabarrus County embraces people with big ideas and bigger hearts, and this ministry grew out of that same spirit — a simple act of generosity that became something ongoing and organized. We serve Concord and the surrounding county, and we are glad to do it alongside neighbors, community partners, and a foundation that took the time to tell the story well.

More than a pantry

Solo Faith is a church first. We gather for two distinct in-person services every weekend — Saturday at 1:00 PM and Sunday at 1:00 PM — both live-streamed, plus online anytime. We preach what Scripture actually says, families worship together, and everyone is welcome exactly as they are. The food ministry is the same faith with its sleeves rolled up.

Solo Faith Church is located at 587 Old Charlotte Rd SW in Concord, NC 28027. Learn more about our services and food ministry at solofaith.org.

About this post: Solo Faith Church shares this update to celebrate a community feature about our food ministry and to help our neighbors understand how free grocery delivery works in Concord and Cabarrus County. When a church holds fast to the Word and also serves the community with its hands, the two are never really separate.
