Most people who start a Solo Seminary course do it at night, after the kids are down, on a phone. The courses are free, self-paced, and there is no cohort to keep up with. That combination is the whole point for a working adult in Concord who has wanted to study Scripture seriously for years and has never once had a Tuesday evening free.
What Is on the Shelf Right Now
Six courses are currently open on the Solo Faith Church courses page, each listed as free and self-study:
The Art of Preaching
After the New Testament: The Writings of the Apostolic Fathers
The Other Side of History: Daily Life in the Ancient World
Ancient Greek Civilization Course: Roots of the Western World
Faith & America: An American Religious History Course
Origins of Ancient Civilizations: The Ancient Near East
The two most recently built courses give a sense of the scale. Ancient Greek Civilization runs six modules and fourteen lessons, from Bronze Age Crete through Alexander. Faith & America runs six modules and twelve lessons, tracing religious life in the United States from the colonial settlements forward.
Why a Church in Concord Teaches Ancient History
It is a fair question, and the answer is not decoration. Solo Faith Church is a non-denominational fellowship that holds Scripture as its sole authority, and the course list reflects a conviction that a reader understands a text better after learning the world it was written into. Reading the prophets without knowing what an empire in the ancient Near East actually was leaves a person guessing at half the stakes.
The same instinct runs through the Apostolic Fathers course. What the generation immediately after the apostles wrote is not Scripture, and Solo Faith does not treat it as such. It does, however, show how quickly the early church began arguing about what it had received — which is worth knowing before anyone claims their own tradition arrived unchanged.

How to Enroll
Enrollment happens on the courses page. Each course has a View Details page listing its modules, and there is no fee and no admission process. Weekend services meet in person at 587 Old Charlotte Rd SW, Concord, NC 28027 on Saturday and Sunday at 1:00 PM, and both are livestreamed. Questions can go to 704.214.5422 or admin@solofaith.org.
Questions Neighbors Ask
Do I have to be a member of Solo Faith Church to take a course?
No. The courses are open to anyone who signs up, including people who have never attended a service and do not plan to.
Is there really no cost?
Every course on the page is listed as free. There is no tuition and no required materials purchase.
Are these accredited seminary courses?
No. Solo Seminary is a discipleship and continuing-education program, not an accredited degree-granting institution, and nothing here transfers toward a seminary degree. It is stated plainly so nobody enrolls expecting otherwise.
How long does a course take?
That depends on the course and on you. Ancient Greek Civilization has fourteen lessons across six modules; Faith & America has twelve across six. Because everything is self-paced, the timeline is whatever you set.
The full catalog sits on Solo Faith Church's Bible study courses page, and more about the congregation running it is at Solo Faith Church.
Solo Faith Church is writing about its own classroom because cost and schedule are the two reasons most adults give up on studying Scripture, and both of those are removable. Taking down that barrier is the same work as carrying groceries to a door — it is access, applied to a different kind of hunger.
